Voice Intercom for Sonos App Reviews

This app DOES do what it says it does. It DOES allow one to use a sonos attached iPhone as a Mic into the sonus system . Easy. Works like a champ . BUT !!! There is a 1/2 second delay between mic and sound . And an uncontrollable extreme amount of feedback. Im an engineer and I understand why, but cant be used as a PA. Worth the small $ paid, so Im not upset. If the mic was not in the sound field of the speakers , this would work . But if it is, then will fail. Do NOT expect this to provide a wireless mic thru sonos. I punted and bought a $100 wireless mic from a music store and an feeding it through the aux in of the Play5. Works great.

Doesnt serve any purpose. Voice is completely broken through speakers and only makes a stuttering sound. Not even worth .99.

It doesn’t allow me to use Sonos as a PA. It will only allow me to play my music over Sonos. Not what I understood when I downloaded it.

I love the app but wish it were a little faster. If you have multiple zones, its great for playing hide n seek with the kids :)

Ive been saying I want something like this for awhile now, and this accomplishes what I had in mind. Namely a way to communicate with everyone in my 3 story house without screaming like a maniac. We have a family of nine and pretty good coverage with 4 players; Im planning to add more. The echo is caused if you are close to one of the speakers and, while annoying, it is better than mic feedback. The delay actually prevents feedback, so people shouldnt complain about it. Could this be better? Yes. Im hoping they upgrade it with better volume controls, a graphic EQ and effects to make my voice sound like Darth Vader or Alvin the Chipmunk.

I bought this thinking I could use it for when my husband plays guitar and we have friends over, but the sound on the speakers is delayed. Thats the echo others refer to. Will never use this.

Im using the Sonos 6.0 software and this app does not work properly. It detects the speakers and allies you to choose one or more, but when you tap start to begin broadcasting, the sound that is broadcast is copy and only catches occasional syllables off what is being spoken. Additionally, the room/zone selection screen shots every speaker including one that are part of stereo pairs or surround setups. This is quite annoying and confusing. The volume control affects all zones, not just the selected ones.

Simply doesnt work as expected. Delays and dropouts are intolerable. And no, I dont think your results would be different.

I rely on this app as an intercom but there have been glitches lately- not connecting with our system, voice coming and going through speaker. Worked really well a year ago but have had to delete and reload the app three times in last few days. Please fix! This is such a useful app!!

Doesnt work. Get broken syllables and everything is unintelligible. I think it was clear ONCE. Im hoping its just a temporary bug... As Ive been looking for this functionality. Wish there was a free trial before I bought this. Will update review if this gets fixed

Quite possibly the best $.99 you can spend. If you own Sonos products, you should own this. Disregard the negative reviews, it works, INSTANTLY! Theres nothing to set up! Just open the app and start talking, when youre done, the music comes back on! That simple. Totally discovered this by accident, very glad I did!

There is a significant delay with this app. Of course, they dont tell you about that in the description. Dont waste your time.
